A proposed improved CSL rating criteria

A proposed improved CSL rating criteria

A task force of industry experts was formed to review the existing CSL rating criteria and propose improvements where appropriate. The recommendations were presented in a document that presents the consensus of the task force and which suggests it will be incorporated into future criteria, codes, and specifications.

Piletest already implemented the criteria into the CHUM software by the form of a “classification bar”. Once enabled, a colored bar appears at the left of each profile and clearly shows the classification at that point.
In addition, hovering the mouse pointer over the profile shows the location of the pulse within the classification “map”.

3DT Note

3DT Note

Animated 3DT (part of the 3D package)

Why real 3 Dimensional Tomography (3DT) is important?

Drawings or graphs can only display 2D data. In order to be able to view 3D data optimally an animated display solution that supports interactive 3D rotation of the 3D object (pile) is needed. Detected flaws can be viewed from different angles and perspectives thus providing essential information for the decision makers.

Piletest 3DT solution for CHUM software offers unique interactive 3D display for CSL system test results.

When do you need to run 3DT?

1 – 3DT provides a more tangible view of the detected flaw in the pile, that can be readily presented to the customer.

2 – When the standard 1D presentation (in either Waterfall, FAT or Relative Energy) or even Piletest unique 2DT presentation do not provide enough information to assess a marginal anomaly in the pile.

Note3DT has limitations, resulting from many factors, which you can read about here. Piletest recommends that decision makers should use 3DT and “Effective Area” in particular, only as a decision supporting tools, and not  by itself for “go/no-go” decisions.
